March 17 Update from Building Principal Dan Moore
Dear Parents,
My goal is to keep this communication short with the ever changing landscape in which we are working. First, I assure you that no matter what is in front of us, we serve the God who is in control. My encouragement and challenge to all of us is to rest in his peace. "And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts to which indeed you were called one body. And be thankful." Colossians 3:15
REMINDERS AND PLANNING
Building hours are 8-Noon for today, Wednesday and Thursday
Our counselor will be here on Wednesday till 1:00 but you must email me to set up an appointment with her.
We will be closed Friday, March 20 and all of Spring Break (3/23-3/27)
Teachers have been diligently working to provide academic activities to support their classrooms. They will also be working to communicate with you and your child. We want to support you! They will be reaching out to you and many will use a Google Voice number. We are asking them to leave a message if they don’t reach you since you may not recognize the incoming call.
We are asking our teachers to not be in the building unless it is absolutely necessary.
We have also asked our teachers to make sure they take time off during Spring Break. Please understand that a return email may take longer during that week but they will all be available again on March 30.
Assignment format for grade levels:
TK-6: Primarily packets and some resources being sent electronically and online
7-12th: Primarily electronic, email, internet focused
Please communicate with your teacher if you do not have internet access or if your child is having a hard time completing assignments, and they will work toward an alternative.
Assignments are time sensitive and WILL be graded. We are following the State of Ohio’s guidelines and recommendations for continuing our academic endeavors. While there are many questions about what this quarter will look like, teachers are being asked to cover the standards as required by the State of Ohio.
Please keep an open line of communication to your teacher and then to Esther Shinkle, Alicia Kidder and Dan Moore, if you need additional help.
A drop off and pick up routine is being established. It is currently being scheduled for April 1, April 2, and April 3. More details will be provided on Monday, March 30th.
Finally, we have established a “Care Team” designed to help families during this time. Rick Herring, our athletic director, is going to oversee the coordination of that team. If we can help in any way please email Rick at rherring@ecaoh.com . If there is anything I can do to help you, assist you or pray for you please email or call me at 937-605-6993.
By His Grace,
Dan Moore
