Dear Parents,

Greetings! In approximately ten days, our school year will begin. If you are like most, the days ahead are a mix of getting ready for school and sneaking in those summer bucket list experiences. Know that we are praying for you and your family during this time.

The information below will help you prepare for our first day of school, August 25. We are eager to help in any way!

STUDENT HANDBOOKS:

Updates for 2020/21 include:

  • Emmanuel Christian Academy Diversity Statement

  • Dress code updates

  • 9-12th Grade only: Cell phone changes (students will be 1 to 1 technology and will not need to have their cell phones out during the day. They will be permitted to have in their backpack and allowed to access at lunch only)

  • School Closings update under “Emergency Closing of School”

  • Remote learning policies including attendance policies

BUSING/TRANSPORATION:

RETURN TO SCHOOL UPDATE: ADDITIONAL SAFETY MEASURES

  • Temperature scanners have been purchased and tested

  • Dividers for TK - 4 completed and ready for classroom use

  • Students will need to arrive in a clean mask and should have an extra one available if needed

  • Students need to have a water bottle with them daily that can be refilled. We are recommending that water fountains only be used for refilling a bottle.

  • Floor and seat signage will be completed the week of August 17

  • Parents that desire to have a divider or shield area for their student’s desk in grade 5 - 12 will need to contact Dan Moore or Donise Jordan for safety approval

  • Feel free to send pocket hand sanitizers

  • Students in grades TK - 6 will receive a landyard that can be tied around their mask so that it will stay on their person during the school day

NURSE NOTES

  • Mask Exemption: If your child will be medically exempt from wearing a mask while at school, a signed note from your child’s physician is required

  • A mask exemption form is provided HERE, but a note from the physician’s office is acceptable as well

  • This form must be filled out prior to the start of school

LEARNING MODALITY

Choices were due by August 10, 2020. The only changes we will accept at this time are students/parents who would like to switch to remote instead of the classroom. SUMMER ONLINE AUCTION

Our Summer Online Auction runs through Sunday, August 16 at 9:00PM! You will find a variety of items that have been donated to the school, including Lion’s Way pavers, reserved parking places, vacations, trips and experiences! OPEN HOUSE

Schedules and instructions can be found HERE. Remote learners will need to attend Open House to pick up texts, work books, and Chromebooks.
