ARRIVING AT SCHOOL
There have been no changes in our traffic patterns for the year. Student drop off is in front of the building using both the entrance and the crosswalk. Parents will turn left into the lanes (at the flagpole/mailbox) on the west side of the building The buses use the South side of the building for drop off and pick up. Please do not park in the drop off areas as it impedes traffic. We suggest arrival by 7:50AM and pick up at 3:10PM.
COVID-19
Emmanuel will be returning to pre-COVID-19 protocols for the upcoming school year. I ask for your patience, support and flexibility as guidelines may change. Emmanuel is committed to the safety of our students, families, and staff. Along with the following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Ohio Department of Health, we consult weekly with experts from the Clark County Combined Health District to determine COVID-related safety protocols throughout the school year.
The Ohio Department of Health released a COVID-19 Fact Sheet: Guidelines for K-12 Student Quarantine and this flow chart with Guidelines for Quarantine After Exposure in K-12 Classroom Settings. The information can help guide quarantine decisions after a student or an adult is exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the classroom setting.
Masking: After careful consideration of the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, Ohio Department of Health recommendations, as well as consultation with the Clark County Combined Health District, masks and facial coverings will be optional for students and staff. In addition, the Ohio Department of Health recommends that those not vaccinated wear a mask or face covering indoors. There is no state mandate requiring masks at this time. At this time, Emmanuel Christian is leaving the decision on whether or not to wear face covering to our families and staff.
Quarantine Guidance: Per recently released ODH guidance for K-12 schools, it is highly recommended that coaches and student-athletes, who are eligible for vaccinations, get vaccinated. At this time, guidelines from the ODH require unvaccinated students of staff to quarantine if they are exposed to a COVID-19 positive individual. When a student of staff member tests positive for COVID-19, the school nurse will notify other staff or families of the students potentially exposed to that individual. This means that contact tracing must continue on guidance from the CCCHD. See the flowchart to learn how contract tracing for fulling vaccinated is different for those not vaccinated. We are anticipating additional guidance on this topic prior to the beginning of school.
