Dear Parents,
Clark County has once again been designed as a “Red” county. While this does not change our current plans for on site or remote learners, we want to be cognizant and prepared for a situation that would force our school to provide remote learning. I want to emphasize that this is only a desire to be prepared and vigilant, as we will continue to enforce practices at Emmanuel as advised by the CDC, Ohio Department of Health and the Clark County Health Department which would help us to keep us in a traditional school environment.
Monday, November 9 will be our final planned “Remote Practice Day”. The Elementary and Secondary will both participate in this event so that we can continue to work through problems or issues if we were to have to go to a remote learning modality at any grade level. Several key components include:
Both elementary and secondary will have “LIVE” times that students are expected to attend on time and for the entire time.
Remote days are “Academic Days” and work WILL be assigned that will happen outside of the stated LIVE time that will constitute the hours needed for an entire school day.
*While there is no requirement that this work be completed during the “Open” school time (i.e., 11:00 - 3:00PM for Elementary and 8:00 - 11:00 for Secondary), the work will need to be completed nonetheless. This means that students will be expected to complete the work and have it submitted at the time assigned by their teacher.Students will have work assigned that will help meet requirements of a complete school day.
Secondary students will be on the “Purple” schedule.
Secondary students will need to check their “Google Classrooms/Classes” of the classes they did not have “LIVE” and complete the work for that class.
In addition, a document has been attached with tips on how to get the most out of your internet connection. We hope this will help with some of the internet issues at home.
Please reach out to us if we can be of help or answer questions.
