Superintendent/Principal Communication

Dear Parents,

We want to again say “thank you” for following all of the COVID-19 guidance. Keep up the good efforts. We all benefit from everyone’s individual efforts!

Be encouraged, the Lord is with us as we go through challenging times. Be intentional about connecting with others in safe ways. Be certain to spend time with Jesus.

Blessings!

John Essig: Superintendent
Dan Moore: Building Principal

The Week Ahead:

Most of our communication now will be communicated through The Week Ahead. We will continue to send administrative and building updates as needed, but important dates and events are now being communicated through The Week Ahead.

YouTube Statement

Many of our teachers use YouTube resources which assist and are valuable to the learning process. Even though the YouTube restricted mode is enforced for the students, there is variance on what YouTube considers “safe”. This may include videos that your child might be able to watch that you may not be in agreement with or would prefer that they not view.

We strongly suggest that you monitor what your kids may view on YouTube whether on their Chromebook, TV or cell phone. Parents may use the “Parent Portal with Securly” to block additional websites, as well as set times to prevent internet access at all.

We will continue to work with our filtering service Securly and G Suite settings to improve safe searches and results.

MAPS Make Up Days: Monday (9/29) and Tuesday (9/30)

Remote Learning “Practice Day” October 2, 2020: In an effort to prepare for the possibility of an all school “Remote Learning Day”, we are going to hold a Remote Learning Practice Day on Friday, October 2. On this day, all students will stay at home and participate in classes remotely. According to our student handbooks, “Remote Learning Days” may be used as needed and detailed in the “Emergency Closing of the School”.

At THIS LINK, you will see a Remote Learning Plan for our Entire School. Please notice there is a plan and time for the Elementary and then one for Secondary students. This plan takes into consideration if a longer time beyond one day were to be needed. For the purpose of our “practice day” we will be treating it as a single day. Secondary (7 - 12 grade) will be on the “Gold” schedule.
