State Funding Awarded

Emmanuel Christian Academy (ECA) has received a 2-year budget of $125k per year from the state of Ohio to provide a pilot program for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) college-level training and industry certifications.

ECA added the first high school-level introductory course last Fall (2018-19 School Year) that started a four-year journey designed for incoming freshmen, but was open to all grade levels (22 students total). The introductory course is an elective technology course called “Air, Land & Sea; an Exploratory Course of Manned and Unmanned Technologies” and gives students good exposure to all aspects of the STEM connection to the modern technologies that are in use today across military, industrial and agricultural aviation applications.

As a result of that course, ECA had two of their first course students and one teacher test for and receive their Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 UAS commercial pilot certificates this Summer!
