April 17 Message from Building Principal Dan Moore

Dear Parents and students,

We find ourselves at the end of another remote learning week and we eagerly anticipate and hope for a return to school. Our administration and staff will continue to comply with the directives from Governor Dewine as well as the instructions from the Ohio Department of Education.

Our goal will be to continue the mission of our school, whether remotely or in the building, and to prepare our students for the future and calling that God has for each of them. Interestingly enough, our goal is to provide a foundation for all aspects that they may be exposed to in life. While the situation is not ideal, our students are being provided with an experience for additional discovery when unexpected things happen in life.

Each of the following sections below are meant to address questions or items in an easy to read format. Please know that I look forward to seeing you and your children and our staff and administration continue to pray for our ECA families!

By His Grace,
Dan Moore, Building Principal

SPIRITUAL FORMATION:

Pastor John has released two devotionals with several more to come. I will share these with you as they are completed. They have been or will be posted on ECA’s Facebook page as well:

Take time to read this short and simple article about discipling your child during quarantine: https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/article/5-ways-to-disciple-your-teen-while-in-quarantine/

SCHOOL CALENDAR:

  •  Will this school year be expanded or lengthened?

    • Although we continue to receive communication from the Ohio Department of Education about strategies and resources to use during this remote learning time, we do not believe that the school year will be lengthened and we have no plans at this time to do so. This is one of the reasons why we transitioned to remote learning so quickly. We didn’t want to lose “time” in the educational process.

  • When will next year’s calendar be released?

    • The calendar is in the final stages of approval. It has taken a little longer to work through given the circumstances.

  • What is happening to Graduation/Commencement?

    • We are hopeful and are working with our seniors and their parents on this matter. We will continue to discuss and will continue to update you as we go.

PROGRESS REPORTS

Progress reports will go out accordingly on Monday, April 20
