Dear Parents,
It is hard to believe, but we are only a few days away from our first day of school (Tuesday, August 25). The Open Houses went very well. Thanks for following all the open house guidelines and for trekking in from the street. We apologize for the timing of the parking lot repairs. Please continue to pray for a successful and safe return to school. Contact us if we can be of assistance in any way.
Blessings!
John Essig, Superintendent
Dan Moore, Building Principal

RETURN TO SCHOOL SAFELY UPDATE
The Clark County Health Department believes that the recent changes to Red Status are likely due to the nursing home outbreaks. They are fully supportive of our plan to return to school.
There were three new governors’ orders that have happened in the last 10 days. https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/covid-19/home
Mask mandate to all students 8/13/2020
Face shields are not approved as masks 8/15/2020
Sports: Mandatory requirements for youth, collegiate, amateur, club and professional sports 8/19/2020 (reviewed below)
The newest version of our “Return to School Safely Plan” is found HERE which reflects changes due to new Governor orders
NURSE NOTES
Mask Exemption: If your child will be medically exempt from wearing a mask while at school, a signed note from your child’s physician is required.
A mask exemption form is attached to use, but a note from the physician’s office is acceptable as well.
This form must be filled out prior to the start of school.
ATHLETICS AND SPECTATOR UPDATE
On August 19, 2020, a new order was issued from the Governor’s office. In short, the order has permitted interscholastic sports to continue and for competition to be permitted between schools for contact and for non-contact sports. The order limits spectators at venues to 15% of capacity and requires athletic departments to develop a protocol and safety measures for each venue.
Due to this order, there will not be “family passes” or walk-in admission to our home games or to our away games. Unfortunately, this includes admission for our students. Unless a student is included on a pass list for a game via request from an athlete, we are unable to permit admission. We are working for a way to provide opportunities for our students to support and attend games in the future when possible.
Families that have students involved with the sports will have the ability to reserve a set amount of tickets at ECA, and then no more than two (2) people to opponent venues. Each opponent may have different requirements. Although is this far from ideal, we will continue to work through the obstacles and will update our ECA family. We are looking toward some future opportunities to “stream” some of our live events.

CHROMEBOOK SUPPORT
What if I cannot access my Wi-Fi at home?
Some of the Chromebooks missed an important update that enabled home Wi-Fi access. It will automatically update when you log onto the device using the school’s Wi-Fi. The update only takes a couple of minutes. You can do that on the first day of school or beforehand (even the parking lot will work). We apologize for the inconvenience.
What are the steps for support if I have a problem with my Chromebook at home?
Contact Vivacity Support at support@vivacitytech.com at any time to receive a call back Monday - Friday from 8:00AM - 7:00PM EST. In addition, tickets will be automatically forwarded to ProStratus (Emmanuel’s IT Contractor) for on-site support collaboration.
Call Support Number at 877-731-2069, Ext 2 only if necessary
What if I lose my password or want to reset it?
TK - 4th Grade: Check with your homeroom teacher
5th - 12th Grade: Students have the ability to reset their own password through their Gmail account (click the picture icon)
Students who forget their password can click the “Forgot Password” link when logging into the Chromebook and follow the instructions.
